House Update

Our house is getting so close to being finished! We go over there all the time and its starting to feel like home already. It is now set to being completed early December. Right now the house is being sided and flooring should be going in this week.

(Laundry/mud room bench entering from the garage)

(Master closet off of the bathroom)

(Pantry in the kitchen)

(Living room. Notice the wiring coming out of the wall for our tv. This is Tim's favorite part of our house.)

(Let's just say that the color I originally picked from the paint chip was slightly brighter than I had anticipated. Brooklyn's room which was supposed to be a light green turned out to be a fluorescent and blinding green that actually glows from a distance. I laughed when I saw it. It was too funny to be upset. The pictures really don't give an adequate depiction. It's set to be repainted this week.)

(Staircase and entryway)

(Master bath and bedroom. Again, I chose the wrong color of paint and the baby blue will be replaced with a light gray.
You can see it on the wall where I tested out the paint before we pay to have it repainted. Dang misleading paint chips!)

The Newest Murdock

Our handsome little Cooper Timothy is finally here! I was induced on October 12, at 7:00 a.m. and after only five hours of labor, our family of three became four. Cooper Trooper weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz. and was 19 3/4 in. long. He is a healthy, happy baby and we couldn't be more grateful.

It was a lot of fun staying at the hospital this time. No, not because of the incredible food ;) Rather my cousin Ciara also had a baby while we were there and Tim and I were able to go visit them just down the hall.

Thanks to everyone who came to the hospital to visit us and for all the support we've received from family and friends.

Home Sweet 2x4's

We owe a lot to my parents for their generosity of letting us crash in their home for the past few months while we are amidst so many transitions in our life: new job, graduation, another baby, and building a house. It has been a huge stress reliever and Wookie has loved all the attention from her adoring fans, Sugar Mama and Bwana. Thanks again!

Here are some pictures of our house. It may not look like much yet but I've never been so excited about 2x4's in my life and Tim's inner interior designer is blooming. The house is set to be completed by December 17th and we can't wait! I bet Sugar Mama and Bwana are pretty excited too ;)

Squirrel Watching

Before I start my post, I want you to take a moment and reflect on the word squirrel. I personally find it hilarious.

Ok.

Now back to the real purpose of this post--squirrel watching. Yep, squirrel watching. It has become a tradition of mine and Wookie's morning routine and we love our furry friend Mr. Squirrel. Every morning and afternoon he arrives at the back door and scratches at the door like a puppy until he gets some food. His other tactic is to stare us down at the window near our sink until we feel uncomfortable. Either way, he gets his way and out goes the food.

We are running a welfare program for perfectly capable furry little animals and they are becoming a little dependent. Here is what it looks like.

Easter and then some. . .

Easter was a lot of fun this year having Wookie around. The festivities started on Saturday morning with an egg hunt, which she had no interest in, and into Sunday with church, dinner at GG's, and another round of egg hunting.

(Getting ready for church. Note: This is a brand new size 12 month dress that almost didn't fit.
We will now be buying only stretchy clothes. Sorry Wookie, such is the life of a chubbster.)

(This is Wookie after all the hunting getting ready for bed. Notice the post-piggy tail hair. Awesome!)

The Easter bunny brought lots of treats and fun surprises. Thanks Mr. Bun Buns! But most importantly thanks for bringing us another BABY!

That's right people.

Baby number 2 is on his/her way and will be arriving around October 10, 2011. Happy Easter!

I Love to See the Temple

Ah, General Conference! I have been looking forward to it for six months and it has already come and gone. As always, I was inspired by President Thomas S. Monson's address given on the Sunday morning session about temples. Here is a powerful excerpt:

"The world can be a challenging and difficult place in which to live. We are often surrounded by that which would drag us down. As you and I go to the holy houses of God, as we remember the covenants we make within, we will be more able to bear every trial and to overcome each temptation. In this sacred sanctuary we will find peace; we will be renewed and fortified."

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has an awesome temple resource available at temples.lds.org. It has a temple gallery, commonly asked Q's & A's, and even temple ordinance schedules along with a lot of other useful information. Check it out.

"Marry the man..."

Yesterday I heard someone say something very profound: "Marry the man you never want to see again." I definitely took this advice and from the moment Tim and I were married I have felt single(ish). Lately this has been even more true. Tim is pulling a really hefty schedule these days and it won't end for a few more months. Typically he wakes up at 6 a.m. and is out the door by 7 a.m.. Then its off to school until around noon, then back home to eat lunch and get ready for work which lasts from 1 p.m. until after 10 p.m.. Then its homework time.

However, despite the fact that I feel like I never see my husband and that he never sees me or Brooklyn, I'm really thankful. Thankful for a husband that works so hard to finish school and support our family at the same time. Thankful that I can stay home with our beautiful daughter and catch all her "firsts." Thankful that I married that man " I never want to see again."

And so for all those times I've complained: Thanks Timmer.

So in honor of his wonderfulness I have posted a video of Tim singing at a BYU-Idaho Broadway Review in 2009. He and his brother Jon sang in it together and not only won the competition but also got a standing ovation. Tim will not appreciate me posting this, and that is why I'm so thankful he is not a violent person :) P.S. The best part is the last note. Killer harmony!

Did you know. . .

that Wookie is a CHUBBY baby? So chubby that her uncle Josh asked if the floors are reinforced to support her weight. She has a onesie that says," Love helps me grow." Is it possible to love her into obesity;) If so, we are only a few hugs and kisses away! At her four month appointment, she was actually two weeks older, she weighed in at 16lbs. 15 oz.. To give you some perspective, imagine Wookie eating her newborn self, 6lbs. 12 oz., a little more than two and a half times! Who knows what she weighs now at five plus months? Here's the transformation:

40 weeks 5 days

Newborn

1 month

2 months

3 months

4 months

5 months

These pictures do not give her rolls, on rolls, on ROLLS any justice. You gotta see it to believe it. We are back in Rexburg now and any of you are free to stop by and get yourself some CHUBBIN’ LOVIN’.
